Making a topknot on your Yorkie is not as hard as it looks. You need patience and practice, but it will soon be very easy.
I have found some links to sites that have instructions, these will help you make the perfect topknot!
Best of luck!
You will need small latex bands (I send you an small pack of them with your bow order), a comb or brush and a nice bow.
It may also help to use a little dippy doo or hair gel to keep the hairs in place (just use a bit).
1. Brush the hair up off the head, making a triangle from the eyes back to behind the ears.
2. Comb that hair up into a ponytail, making sure not to pull too tight stretching the eyes.
3. Wrap that ponytail with a small latex band and double it over it you need to.
4. Once you have a good ponytail that isn't too tight, use one band on your bow and wrap that over the band you just put on.
Make sure you face the bow towards the front and make sure it's not too tight.
That's it!
It seems very hard but with practice, you will be great at it before you know it.
Your Yorkie probably won't like the bow right away, but be consistent with putting the bow in and take it out at the end of the day.
Soon, your Yorkie will do just fine with the bow.
Make sure you take the bows out at night and don't leave them unattended with bows in.
When taking the first band out (the one you made the ponytail with), very gently (with small cosmetic scissors) cut the band off.
This will keep your Yorkie's hair from breaking.
